Overview of Research and Development

Objectives of the Association

In Japan, projects by citizens, the private sector, financial institutions, and local governments that lead to the conservation and creation of environmental values in coastal areas are not being implemented efficiently and effectively.

In order to solve this issue, the Japan Blue Economy association (JBE) aims to promote research and development of technologies (methodologies) necessary to revitalize projects that will help conserve and restore coastal areas through close cooperation among researchers, engineers and practitioners in different fields and capacities.

Means of achieving the objectives - the organic linkage of four methodologies

We believe that the significance of the Japan Blue Economy association (JBE) lies in organically linking four methodologies (the Scientific Methodology, the Technical Methodology, the Social Science Methodology and the Economic Methodology) and promoting research in an overarching manner by referring to each other's research results.
